POSITION SUMMARY

The Youth Support Worker (YSW) reports directly to the Manager of Education with a matrix reporting to the Director of Health, Director of Recreation and Director of Culture Language and Heritage. The YSW provides individualized support to youth by focusing on life skills development and wellness planning through trauma-informed and harm reduction approaches. This role involves working with youth in both individual and group living settings to foster independence, healthy habits, and personal growth. The YSW collaborates with social workers, community partners, and Metlakatla First Nation departments to ensure youth have access to essential services, cultural support, and treatment programs.
