Detailed Overview

Reporting to the Manager, the Unit Clerk/Operating Room (O.R.) Booking Clerk performs a variety of clerical duties related to the operation of a patient care area including such duties as acting as a communication link for the Unit by transcribing and processing physician's orders; coordinating patient appointments; arranging patient tests and receiving results; preparing, distributing and making revisions to the daily and weekly O.R. slates using a computerized scheduling system. Maintains patient and surgical information by entering data information into computer, reviews booking forms, maintains and files other records related to booking procedures. Communicates with O.R. medical staff and offices as well as various hospital departments regarding surgical bookings, changes and revisions to the surgical slates.
