The Acute Geriatric Unit (AGU) at the RGH provides comprehensive care to frail older adults with complex medical needs requiring rehabilitation in an acute care setting. Working under general supervision, the Unit Clerk serves as the point of first contact to the nursing unit. This position performs a variety of general reception/clerical duties.

Responsibilities

• Maintain patient records and documents, both paper and electronic.
• Perform admission, discharge, and transfer functions in Connect Care.
• Coordinate activities and appointments with other departments.
• Coordinate internal and external transportation of patients and equipment.
• Process requisitions, services, and appointments from other departments.
• Answer telephone calls, patient call bell system, and monitor patient access.
• Fax information to related departments.
