Tool Design Engineer

• Analyze CAD data, 2D drawings, 3D models of products as the same as customer specifications to define product moldability & manufacturability
• Identify risks related to geometry, wall thickness, draft, undercuts, and tolerances
• Recommend design changes to improve quality, tooling feasibility, and cost
• Participate in design reviews with Product Engineering teams
• Analyze gate location, runner balance, cooling efficiency, and venting
• Participate in Mold Flow reviews to predict potential defects and consider those during tool design
• Create tooling concepts for tooling vendors to optimize cost and manufacturability.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for those products.
• Support RFQ processes and quote preparation
• Launch the projects when TRA approved
• Review tool designs are suitable for tool building and maintenance
