Key Competencies Required to be Successful as an Accountant
Daily maintenance and reconciliation of the general ledger for Liability, Equity, and Asset accounts to ensure accuracy and validity of accounting transactions.
Consolidates and prepares monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements for multiple R.S. Hughes divisions.
Daily review of subsidiary ledger accounts.
Executes month-end close process by following internal procedures and protocols; including but not limited to settling suspension and clearing accounts.
Reconciles cash disbursement accounts, payroll, customer accounts, and other financial accounts.
Documents, creates, and posts journal entries.
Manages accruals to accurately reflect obligations monthly.
Performs regular internal audits to support financial accuracy, internal controls, and regulatory compliance.
