Detailed Overview

Collects, cleans, sterilizes, assembles, and distributes respiratory supplies and equipment to/from all patient care areas in accordance with established procedures; maintains supplies and equipment inventory and orders supplies as required. Responsibilities Retrieves and cleans designated respiratory equipment from all user areas utilizing cold decontamination methods. Assembles, packages and delivers respiratory equipment and supplies to all patient care areas. Checks portable oxygen tank levels daily and replaces tanks as required. Assembles all ventilator circuits, auxiliary breathing circuits and therapy equipment. Reports and/or removes from use any malfunctioning equipment or supplies; replaces worn parts such as Y connectors and discoloured tubing.
