Detailed Overview

As a member of the interdisciplinary team and reporting to the Recreation Therapist, the Recreation Coordinator plans, implements, monitors, and revises recreation programs that provide residents/patients with opportunities to maintain and improve their physical, mental, spiritual and social functioning. Responsibilities Plans, implements, monitors, and evaluates recreation programs that meet the needs of residents, such as community outings, arts and crafts, word games, cooking, gardening, exercise, sports, discussions, and pool programs. Prepares food items with residents by counting, weighing and/or measuring ingredients, mixing beverage and food items and assembling food items. Portions out and serves food and beverages. Prepares for and accompanies residents on community outings by performing duties such as ensuring that residents have appropriate clothing, necessary equipment, and funds for activities.
