The Ophthalmic Technician is an Allied Health professional who examines, assesses, diagnoses, and treats eye conditions for residents of the Northwest Territories (NWT) and Nunavut (NU). Working at the Stanton Eye Clinic, this role supports the prevention of vision loss and helps patients achieve the best possible vision outcomes.
The position provides both direct patient care and expert advice to a wide range of health professionals and community partners. The technician plays a key role in outreach services, travelling regularly to communities across the North to deliver eye care services. Reporting to the Supervisor of the Stanton Eye Clinic, the Ophthalmic Technician is part of a team delivering services to all 56 communities in the NWT and NU, seeing approximately 15,000–20,000 patients annually.
