QUALIFICATIONS
Certification/Experience/Knowledge
Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario required
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certificate obtained within the past 1 year required
Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certificate obtained within the past 2 years required
Recent (within the past 2–3 years) Coronary Care Course (minimum 25 hours) and/or Lead II/12 Lead Interpretation Course (minimum 25 hours) required
Minimum 2–3 years of Medical/Surgical experience required
Recent (within the past 2–3 years) Critical Care and Emergency experience (minimum 1 year) required
Must have or be able to obtain certification in added nursing skills and delegated medical acts specific to the Emergency Department and Coronary Care Unit by the end of the orientation period, including:
