The Medical Lab Assistant is responsible for collecting blood samples from patients, cleaning and maintaining equipment and providing support services to the Lab.
Responsibilities
The lab assistant performs laboratory duties and/or procedures, requiring adaptation of methods and procedures.
Collecting blood, performing ECGs, setting up and assisting with stress tests.
Problem‑solving minor equipment problems.
Handling loop monitors, heart monitors, and blood pressure monitors.
Frequent contact with coworkers onsite and at alternate sites, physicians, suppliers and patients.
Responding to emergency codes.
Performing responsibilities within the blood banking process.
Backing entering results from referred out tests, ECGs, and pathologies.
