Position Summary

BCIT’s Library Services department is currently seeking a regular, full-time (1.0 FTE) Media and Maker Technology Specialist. The position conducts operations of MediaWorks, providing support and instruction, to staff and students with graphics/illustration; signage; digital media projects; multimedia presentations, with digital video, digital audio; 3D printing/design; laser cutting, virtual/augmented reality; and other makerspace equipment. Please note: this position will work an irregular work week (Tuesday‑Saturday).

Duties & Responsibilities

• Maintains a creative, safe and fun workspace for MediaWorks clients.
• Develops, plans and executes digital media, AR, VR and maker‑space related technology programming.
• Seeks out and engages with librarians and staff/faculty to encourage curriculum project collaboration that utilizes MediaWorks services and staff expertise.
