Major Responsibilities
Operates and maintains diesel engines and related mechanical and electrical equipment such as marine hoisting equipment on vessels in a safe, efficient and environmentally-friendly manner.
Inspects and effects repairs to all diesel and gasoline powered machinery and equipment. Advises Marine Engineer 1 when shutdown of engines and equipment is necessary or makes independent decision to shut down engines/equipment when at sea or when Marine Engineer 1 is off duty.
