The Lactation Consultant/ Childbirth Coordinator is responsible and accountable to work in collaboration with all members of the healthcare team to provide lactation care and assist with childbirth education. The role of the Lactation Consultant/ Childbirth educator is to promote, support and protect breastfeeding as the optimal food choice for infants, as well as assist in the prenatal education.
