Job Summary

Under the general direction of the Supervisor, Surveys and Inspections, the Instrument Person is responsible to use various survey instruments to assist the Party Chief in the day to day activities in the performance of various types of civil construction layout and topographic data collection as described in the duties and responsibilities below.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform topographic and pre-engineering surveys; process and edit data used in the preparation of base construction plans.
• Assists the Party Chief in managing all site‑specific surveying activities including providing layout for construction of municipal infrastructure on roadways and other City owned lands to ensure associated appurtenances are constructed in the desired locations.
