Freshwater Aquaculture Technician – Anchorage Hatchery, Grand Manan, New Brunswick.

Primary Duties

• Assist other aquaculture technicians in the operation of fish hatcheries.
• Brood stock production and handling spawning, egg and fry production.
• Attention to details.
• Ability to lift and carry brood fish.
• Computer literate.
• Ability to answer alarms.
• Willing to work varied or irregular shift including weekends.
• Feed aquaculture stocks, vaccinate stocks, and perform culling.
• Operate, maintain, and clean pumps, filters, tanks and other aquaculture equipment.
• Keep daily records of water chemistry and oxygen.
• Grade and weigh aquaculture stocks.
• Handles chemicals with necessary PPE. Includes mandatory FIT testing (respirators).
