Detailed Overview

Performs a variety of duties in a food service department including portioning and serving food to patients/residents in patient’s room and/or in designate area, performing related cleaning duties within work area, and making designated food and beverage items. Responsibilities Sets up meal trays with items such as juice, milk, desserts, condiments, dishware, cutlery and napkins according to meal tickets/reports. Delivers and serves meals and/or nourishments to patients/residents in patient’s room and/or in designated area. Loads, delivers, collects and unloads meal service wagons in patient/resident areas/rooms. Clears and cleans dining room tables. Counts, weighs and/or measures ingredients for assigned food preparation area. Makes beverages and food items such as tea, coffee and toast.
