Position Overview

Island Health’s Department of Cardiology has an opportunity for a full‑time Cardiologist with Cardiac Device implant specialty training to join an existing cardiologist and a group of dedicated cardiac internists and intensivists at NRGH to establish a Heart Health Division in Nanaimo, which will be part of a well‑established 20‑member Division of Cardiology in Victoria.

Qualifications

• Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certification in Cardiology.
• Demonstrated competency in all aspects of cardiology.

Responsibilities

• Coverage of the coronary care unit and cardiology wards.
• On‑call coverage for Cardiology.
• Device implantation and clinical oversight/management of patients in the local Pacemaker Clinic.
