Job Summary
Assistant Shift Engineer - Third Class with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) joins the Power Plant team at Vancouver General Hospital.
Responsibilities
Operate, repair and maintain a high pressure (600psig+) high temperature (750 °F superheat) primary combined cycle, parallel co‑generation thermal power plant with 2890 boiler horsepower, managing boilers, feed water pumps, turbines, power distribution centres and related auxiliary equipment.
Ensure compliance with the Boiler and Pressure Vessel Safety Act and Regulations.
Operate the following equipment: 600 psig boilers; 150 psig boilers; 1 MW 4160 V turbo‑generators; 1000 psig feed water pumps; 225 KW and 500 KW diesel generators; 440 V, 4160 V and 12800 V transformers and switchgear; 1600 KW stand‑by generators.
