+ Directs and controls all subordinate engineering staff to ensure that all day to day operational matters are handled on time and that guest expectations are met. + Maintains facilities and equipment by conducting routine inspections and determining appropriate rectification measures. + Maintains systems to be able to handle day to day guest requests quickly and efficiently. + Assists in the preparation of duty rosters, vacation plans and public holiday scheduling. + Ensures the implementation and follow up of ongoing preventive maintenance programs. + Assists in the establishment of inventory procedures and control. + Assists in the monitoring and controlling of the hotels annual R&M budget + Ensures the implementation and follow up of energy conservation programs + Liaise with purchasing and suppliers to ensure provision of quality engineering supplies at most competitive prices
