The Cardiac Anesthesia Division at Kelowna General Hospital is recruiting new members to support a growing program comprising 8 members. The division delivers seamless coverage with pre‑operative consultation, anesthesia for cardiac surgery, and post‑operative care in the Cardiac Surgery ICU, which has a 6‑bed capacity expandable to 8 beds. The annual cardiac surgery volume is 600 cases, with plans for significant growth. The scope covers the entire spectrum of cardiac surgery, excluding minimally invasive procedures and transplant. Additional responsibilities include short‑term mechanical support (V‑A ECMO, V‑V ECMO, VAD), support for the TAVI program (annual volume 150 cases), and TEE support for complex non‑cardiac surgeries.
