Reporting to the Manager, Academic Support, the Academic Support Specialist is a member of the Learner Academic Support team and supports academic functions.
Key Responsibilities
Attend the weekly Learner Review Committee and bring up‑to‑date information on learners as assigned to inform decisions made regarding student statuses within the college, including academic standing and attendance.
Maintain regular contact with assigned learners on the Learner Review Committee and follow the Learner Review Committee's process and guidelines.
Identify at‑risk learners (attendance/academic) and add them to the Learner Review Committee ahead of weekly meetings.
Oversee academic plans and offer direct support to students.
Facilitate student requests for additional academic support.
